In a crook in the wall stood a small graceful Madonna shrine. It was so discreet and precious and quiet.Nothing disturbed the serenity of it's presence. I was thinking that in the USA it might have been disturbed by kids.... but here.... it was allowed peace.

Lovely. Love the warms against the cools. In Italy religion is integrated into everyday life, not something apart from it, just for Sundays - or so it feels to me.
